The lovely vintage fusee pocket watch came in for a service and repair as it had stopped completely. A quick inspection showed the chain to be in good condition but the watch was in need of a good clean and lubrication.
Whilst dismantling the watch I found that the ruby pin was broken on the balance roller (pictures below) so this needed to be replaced.
Once the work was done the watch was keeping time to within a minute a day – not bad for a watch manufactured well over 100 years ago.
